SEMINAR CONTENT

This seminar addresses California employment law specifically for the Texas employer with employees in California.  It is a unique half-day program that employers, HR officials, attorneys, CFOs, controllers, payroll professionals, accountants and supervisors attend each year.  Both new and existing California employment laws will be covered, what the new laws mean for Texas employers with employees in California, and strategies for compliance.  Specifically covered will be how California employment laws differ from Texas employment law.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Scott Brutocao is a licensed California attorney who has been practicing employment law in California since 1994 and in Texas since 2000. He has litigated and advised employers in hundreds of matters under California law, and has been advising Texas employers under California law since he was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2000. He is board certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas board of Legal Specialization, and has authored articles and spoken at Continuing Legal Education seminars on both California and Texas employment law throughout his career. He has also frequently conducts California supervisor anti-harassment training that complies with the requirements of California law.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

This seminar has been approved for 2.75 hours of CLE credit by the Texas Bar, and we will provide documentation for accreditation with the HR Certification Institute.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.  The program will commence at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 12:00 p.m., with one 15-minute break.  Continental breakfast is included.  Clients of CSMBB receive a highly discounted rate, and “early bird” registration is available through December 31.
