Cornell Smith Mierl Brutocao Burton, LLP is growing its team with the addition of Laura Fauber.

Laura is an experienced labor and employment attorney who partners closely with employers in Texas, California, and Washington to help them navigate all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. Her expertise includes strategic advising and counseling, drafting and negotiating employment-related agreements, and representing employers in litigation.

“Laura brings a unique perspective to the firm having practiced for about a decade in large law firms then serving as in-house counsel for several years,” said partner Scott Brutocao. “She is a key addition to our growing team of experienced partners and will help us continue to provide exceptional service to our clients.  In addition, she is licensed in California and Washington, which will add to our deep expertise in California law and expand our capabilities to the state of Washington.”

Prior to joining the firm, Laura practiced at two large international law firms in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Austin as well as served as the Senior Director of Employment, Benefits, and Litigation at a public technology company in Austin. 

In addition to her professional pursuits, Laura is active in the Austin community. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Robert W. Calvert Inn of Court and as the Board President for ATX Kids Club.

Cornell Smith now has eight partners, all with decades of experience in representing employers and executives in all aspects of labor and employment law.
