Biography
Scott Brutocao represents employers in all aspects of Labor and Employment law and is licensed, and regularly practices, in both Texas and California. Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Brutocao represents employers in litigation, counseling, agreement drafting and negotiation, training, and investigations. His litigation experience includes numerous jury and non-jury trials/arbitrations in both Texas and California on a variety of legal claims, and his advice practice spans all areas of employment law. Mr. Brutocao also has deep experience in drafting, advising, and negotiating covenants not compete and covenants not to solicit customers and employees, and in litigating such agreements along with trade-secret misappropriation claims.
Mr. Brutocao also represents high-level executives in the review and negotiation of many types of employment-related agreements.
Mr. Brutocao is a frequent speaker at employment-related seminars, both for employers and other attorneys. He also publishes articles on employment law issues in a variety of commercial and legal publications. His annual seminar, “California Law for Texas Employers,” is a one-of-its-kind program that attracts in-house and outside counsel, HR executives, and finance professionals.

Mr. Brutocao was recognized by Best Lawyers® as 2015 “Lawyer of the Year” in Labor and Employment Litigation for Austin. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America© continuously since 2008. In addition, as published in Texas Monthly and Super Lawyers Magazine by Thomson Reuters, Mr. Brutocao has been named a “Texas Super Lawyer” continuously since 2012.
