Client Alert: DOL Issues Q&A on FFCRA and Sets Effective Date of April 1, 2020

As a general alert to our clients, we are sending you the link to the DOL’s March 24 Q&A on the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA):

Note that the DOL is announcing that the new law goes into effect April 1, not April 2 as many believed.

The Q&A is not the last guidance we expect from the DOL, which is also expected to be issuing more formal implementing regulations for the FFCRA.  The Q&A provides general answers related to employee eligibility, calculating the paid leave entitlements, and determining the 500-employee threshold.
