Desiree Brutocao, Of Counsel, has been licensed in California since 1995 where she began her practice as a litigation associate with the national law firm Zelle & Larson, LLP.  In 2008, she became licensed to practice in Texas.  After working in the legal department of a multi-state employer, she joined the firm in 2013.

Ms. Brutocao’s practice is focused on the representation of Texas, California and multi-state employers.  In addition to providing day-to-day advice, she represents clients in litigation, as well as in administrative matters before federal, state, and local agencies.   She responds to charges of discrimination, claims with the Texas Workforce Commission under the Texas Pay Day Act, and wage and hour audits by the U.S. Department of Labor.   She assists clients in preparing up-to-date handbooks, employment agreements, and separation and release agreements for exiting employees.  She conducts audits for clients to ensure Form I-9 compliance.   Clients rely on her to aid them in complying with the many laws and regulations that come into play when dealing with an employee with medical issues including complex accommodation and leave issues.
